Would Muslim mothers actually use something like this?
I’ve been working on a pregnancy app aimed at Muslim mothers and was curious whether people here feel this is actually something missing.
A lot of pregnancy apps I came across felt very clinical and tracking-focused, which is obviously useful, but they didn’t really reflect the emotional or spiritual side of pregnancy that many Muslim women experience.
So I started building something a bit calmer and more reflective alongside the normal practical tools.
It has things like:
• daily Quran/hadith reflections related to pregnancy and motherhood
• morning/evening adhkār reminders
• Islamic baby names with meanings
• trimester-based content that changes throughout pregnancy
• the usual tracking features like kicks, contractions, notes, weight logs, checklists, etc.
One detail I spent a weird amount of time on was making the app itself feel different depending on the trimester, so even the colours and atmosphere gradually shift over time rather than feeling static.
The hardest part honestly wasn’t building the app technically, it was the content. Making sure things were authentic, sourced properly, translated carefully, and didn’t feel preachy or generic took much longer than expected.
It’s currently available in English, Arabic, and Turkish, and I’m also working on a community feature so mothers can support each other directly.
Genuine question:
Would something like this actually be useful to Muslim mothers, or do most people already get this kind of support elsewhere through family/community/etc.?
I’d honestly appreciate criticism more than encouragement because I’m still refining it.
