Thinking of transfering - BPA- Comms

I'm currently a 2nd-yr Macewan student in their communications course. So far, I've been really enjoying it. However, I'm a mature student with a family, I work, and I live out of town. Trying to find courses that line up with my availability, are offered regularly, and that I have the pre-reqs for has been a bit of a nightmare. So I'm looking at transferring to AU.

I'm wondering if the AU can help me answer some of these questions:

- has anyone transferred from Macewan's program before? What were the transfer credits like?

- what is your opinion of the Comms program? Is it fairly dry, or does it keep your interest?

- are there a lot of group projects or is it fairly independent learning? So far, I've done a LOT of group projects and it's been a complete struggle with my schedule.

- what are exams like? Does every course have a midterm and final? And is ProctorU really all that bad? Like, how strict are they — watching your eyes, needing a completely clean room, etc.?

- Lastly, what is AU's accessibility like for accommodations?

Thank you!

Seeking advice: trying to get my rifle back

Please be kind, as I am genuinely seeking information. I'm in the middle of a high-conflict divorce, and there are lawyers involved (**Yes, I’ll be discussing this with counsel**), but I'm also looking to get input from the gun-owner community. I've had a licence since I was legally allowed to, and I have a 30-06 Savage that I've used for hunting, which got me my first deer. My ex bought it and gifted it to me years ago. I still have the paperwork. I also registered it in my name in 2010 before the long-gun registry was abolished, and I still have the certificate. Now my ex refuses to give my rifle back, saying that because he bought it, it's his.

Because the registry has been abolished, I have some questions:

  1. is the certificate enough to prove my rightful ownership?
  2. is there any way to get my rifle returned to me?
  3. can I get the RCMP to facilitate the return due to the high conflict?
  4. If I cannot get this rifle returned, is there any way this gun can be traced back to me, ever, at all? I have no idea whether he plans to get rid of it or make money off it, and that's really concerning as I don't know where it could potentially end up.

Do you have any advice on how I can get my rifle back, legally and safely?
Thank you.
