What makes people post their used guns for above new prices? I’m looking for a 10/22 brand new they’re about $419.99 in my area, but every post I’m seeing is like $500-$1000. Why would anyone pay more for a used gun? I’m not even talking about modified ones, or optics or anything. Just a standard wood stocked ruger 10/22 for like $800.
Looking for an honest review / feedback. Can’t trust Canadian caliber or go tendas video review. Need a cheap plinker to scratch that tacticool itch or am I just better off with Ruger 1022 with a aftermarket stock.
Also SBIs pricing on their rifles out of touch now. Used to get discount codes which only seem to become available when they are out of stock with their rifles and jacked up msrp.
Why not do some improvising? Introducing my redneck brass catcher. I'll be trying it out on the Derya nine millimetre, as well as the TM22 and some lever action guns soon.
Hi all,
I got my PAL and am saving to get the tikka t3x this fall in 308win.
I have been eyeing a soviet SKS that my neighbour(fishing buddy) has and wants to sell it.
Growing up i had loads of native friends and almost all of their families had an sks or multiple ones. Its a beauty. Now as im in the maritimes far away from home, i felt oddly nostalgic after hearing about him willing to sell it off and take a break from hunting and guns in general.
I am also well aware that many people are saying its gonna get banned and i cant use it in the future. Im not a collection kinda guy, i strongly believe in "if i cant shoot my gun why bother stashing it away" but that doesnt mean im a one gun guy or wont buy a shitload of different types in the future.
I hope i was able to express what i feel and no offense to anyone who loves collecting guns, heck im down for collecting too but i gotta be able to use them end of the day.
I already hate the gun laws of my country and every year they try to disarm us more and more.
TLDR: would it be wise to buy an SKS and what are the chances of it getting banned in the near future?
Thanks for your Patience in reading this long body of text, please advise me on it.
Please be kind, as I am genuinely seeking information. I'm in the middle of a high-conflict divorce, and there are lawyers involved (**Yes, I’ll be discussing this with counsel**), but I'm also looking to get input from the gun-owner community. I've had a licence since I was legally allowed to, and I have a 30-06 Savage that I've used for hunting, which got me my first deer. My ex bought it and gifted it to me years ago. I still have the paperwork. I also registered it in my name in 2010 before the long-gun registry was abolished, and I still have the certificate. Now my ex refuses to give my rifle back, saying that because he bought it, it's his.
Because the registry has been abolished, I have some questions:
Do you have any advice on how I can get my rifle back, legally and safely?
Thank you.
Heyy hoping everyone is doing well, so i live in bc and whoever has a hobby of firearms and lives in lower mainland or fraser valley would have visited Sylvester backroad at least once. Due to illegal activities in the area(stolen cars being burned at end of the trail where the crown land starts) rcmp has a check near the start. there isn’t much traffic as it used to be and i took up a initiative to clean all the campsites and mess people leave behind. Which includes empty ammunition boxes, cartridges, shells and garbage. I am currently unemployed and to keep my sanity i go there in the morning and come back at night. i do as much as i can and sometimes my girl helps me too. i was wondering if anyone wants to come and join me.
A quick camping trip turned into an opportunity to try my new 10/22, and my wife wanted to try, turns out she's actually super into it! I'm very happy with how it all went, and she's not a bad shot at all
Hi all,
Looking to get a new shotgun for IPSC or Practical Shotgun. My Mossberg is not up to the task as it does not have chokes, is heavy, and only has a 6+1 shot capacity.
What's the go-to pump shotgun for IPSC-type shooting? Is it the Benelli Supernova? What barrel length is best - 26" or 28"?
Similarly, for semi-auto choices, it seems the Beretta 1301 Comp Pro is pretty much out-of-the-box ready, but do people prefer the 21" or 24" model? Are there any other choices I should consider, like the Benelli M2 SP in 26" or 28"?
I likely won't use it for clays, so it's solely for practical shotgun use, should I get a shorter one for easier maneuverability?
Thanks!
Was in the market for something compact, versatile, and easily reachable in the truck or the bedroom. Settled on this monster, as usual I am excited and the wife is filing the divorce papers.
The safe's full and now I have to get another one 😔
Felt today would be a fitting day to take out my 1976 Ruger Blackhawk.
I know that it’s easy to drown in all of the doom and gloom that this hobby has become since 2020, but there are still a handful of things to look forward to.
BM arrives this fall.
The L85A1 was recently approved so the lab isn’t completely lost.
Ammo prices are down since peak COVID. currently seeing $0.55 223 and $0.30 9mm.
The SKS has also survived another high profile shooting.
The CCFR Supreme Court challenge appears to have placed a stalemate on the government where no further prohibitions will be implemented until we know the decision of the courts.
What else is coming down the pipeline to look forward to?
Hey guys I'm interested in getting the Olympic Exemption in Alberta. I'm still trying to understand the process a bit as I've heard some people have gotten it without a letter from the SFC. I'd like to get a fn502 from IRG probably so I can convert it to 9mm but just curious if someone could explain their experience as It seems to vary a little by province. Thanks!
An old school locker i repainted, and fit perfectly into a custom built closet area (closet still unfinished)
Once my clothes are on the hanger the safe for the most part is hidden unless you were really looking for it.
Added carpet on the shelf and bottom, motion sensor LED lights inside that turn on automatically when the door is opened, I used a closet broom mount as a barrel catch to some rifles can fit standing up nice and straight
Right now it has 5 guns and 1 air rifle and could fit atleast twice that if i jammed them in.
2nd to last picture is what it looked like when i picked it up, last picture was during the painting process.
When you can’t buy cool guns so you have to make your own Canada Day fireworks launcher!
This started life as a Charles Daley single shot 14” 12 gauge. My gunsmith made a custom barrel for launching pop cans/ tennis balls or smoke grenades!
I recently picked up some score low recoil slugs and high velocity slugs but when I opened them I noticed that the brass neck or whatever ya call it are the same length compared to my challenger target slugs where the brass neck is super short, so I’m just wondering if they’re made like that or if they put high velocity slugs into a low recoil slug box.
I need some advice. First time gun owner here, and I have my mind set on the 12 gauge Mossberg 500. I plan on primarily using it for target shooting, deer hunting/big game, small game, and I want to get into waterfowl and even turkey, though I personally have never been. Because of my wide range of desires, I have come to the conclusion that the deer/field combo will best suit my needs. This comes with a 28” smooth bore barrel and a 24” rifled bore for sabot slugs. Here’s my dilemma
I think I want the shotgun in black, however the black deer/field combo, the rifled barrel comes with a cantilever mount attached to the barrel and an optic (2.5x20 scope); While the OG wood furniture 12 gauge and camo version, the rifled barrel has rifled/iron sights, and if I choose to add an optic I’m assuming I would have to drill/attach to the rail later on. Personally I don’t know how I feel about the cantilever barrel as I have personally never used an optic on a shotgun and I have seen some mixed reviews. I’ve only been hunting a handful of times with family but I want to an opinion because I plan to take it much more seriously once I purchase. Is it worth it? Are rail attached sights better than barrel/cantilever style? I’ve heard the optic provided is pretty shit so I would likely remove it anyway and add a new one or maybe even just raw dog it. Idk personally, but it’s the only thing holding me back. I guess I can just sell the one it comes with later on and get a standard 24” rifled barrel but it really is a steal for this combo. If Anyone has any experience with this combo, opinions, or otherwise, please share as I would love to hear. If the optic for longer range is really worth it I would be a lot more confident with this combo, I do wish the black version was offered as an option the way the wood and camo are though:-/
Here’s my big Johnson. It’s got the length and girth. Luckily it’s not that expensive to shoot.
