[TOMT][MOVIE][1980’s]
This movie scene has haunted me for years. I was born in 1984 and remember watching it in after school care which would have been anywhere from 1990-1993. I’m pretty sure the movie is from the 80’s. The one scene I remember is towards the end where a group of children and/or preteens arrive at a huge rainbow and run towards it. I think they get covered in the colors of it like paint maybe? Or they are just muddy, but it’s a celebratory scene under a huge rainbow… very cathartic, and their journey/adventure was harrowing somehow. It’s live action—not animated. Definitely a kids/family film, but looking back now was probably super intense for kids by today’s standards like most 80’s movies. I wish I could remember more but I can’t. It was a film that I watched and was shown more than once… if this rings any bells for you it would mean SO much to me to figure out what this is from. I have tried so hard to find it and no luck. Edit: To clarify, I don’t think the whole film is rainbow themed/oriented… or that most people would immediately associate whatever this movie is with a rainbow. But maybe? I think it’s only in this one scene towards the middle or end, which happens to be what stands out in my memory.
