What are you putting on your resumes for development labs?
I’ve seen people post about resumes for production/studio jobs. I’m wondering what y’all are putting on your resumes for development labs, finishing fund programs, incubators etc. Programs that are asking you to show your artistic vision/prowess.
I’m a filmmaker who initially started out as a screenwriter and actor. A lot of my professional “on set” jobs have been as an actor. Most of the films I’ve worked on, I’ve been the director or producer putting mostly my own money into the movie. I feel like I always hear people recommend for early career folks to only put your PA/assistant jobs on your resume, is that still true when applying to these kinds of programs?
I’m thinking of having the following sections: Name/Contact. Short 1-2 sentence bio. Production experience (highlighting the 2 shorts, 1 music video, and 1 pilot I’ve directed or produced). Selected acting work. Education. Should I also include a section for completed screenplays with their loglines? I haven’t entered any of them to screenwriting competitions.
Also skills? Do you put skills on something like this? Feels odd to list out final draft and Final Cut Pro as reasons to “hire” me.
“Film” is a broad field to be working in, how do you best represent yourself as an artist in these situations?
