CGA, who decides what constitutes a major fault and who is able to choose the remedy?

Bought a Samsung A16 from a big box retailer and the phone stopped charging after a couple of months use.

It also has an absolutely diabolical camera, the combination of no OIS and a laggy interface means that it's a dice roll if you'll get a usable photo out of it or not.

I hadn't looked at or had to deal with the CGA for a long time but the retailer was insisting that they had the right to fix it and it was their choice if they fixed it/replaced it and that that would depend on what issue Samsung's repair centre found.

With the camera being abysmal i'd prefer to exchange it for a different model or get a refund.

Looking over the CGA the wording isn't super specific as to what constitutes a major fault. I'd argue that a phone that doesn't charge would fit the bill, and that maybe I could make a case that the camera isn't fit for purpose but the store was saying things like "well if its just the port it's a minor fault and we'll fix it etc etc" and "you had the opportunity to test the camera in store.." I bought it online and no reviews mentioned the laggy camera app and resulting blurry photos.. but anyway.. All they're saying here is that if its costly to fix, ie a motherboard issue, they'll replace it, but if it's the daughter board or port etc they'll fix it and I don't have a choice.

Would I be correct in thinking that a phone that doesn't charge is a major issue and the choice is mine as to the solution?

*Edit. Should add the port was clean and clear.

Would i be an idiot to live in a sick house running 24/7 air purifiers?

Have a rental i'm unable to move out of for various reasons at the moment. The house had aspergillus levels 600 times the recommended amount, it stinks and I don't enter it without a respirator as I have acute allergic like reactions in a short amount of time (and am very thankful i do, otherwise I might end up living in it wondering why i'm always sick and tired..).

The owner refuses to fix it, despite being in breech of the local laws. The wooden cladding has failed in places as has the roof and it's in a fairly damp climate. That said the interior is reasonably dry, baring a few spots of dry wall that measured as high moisture.

I recently found out about Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes and was considering building a few to mitigate the high levels of spores in the house and possibly move in fully.

Has anyone any experience doing something similar? Would i be exposing my self to potential illness if the spore levels were reduced to acceptable levels but the source was still present?

I'd removed my bbs01b and its hailong battery pack and taken the four pin battery connector out of the caddy, I was intending to test connections and accidentally inserted the four pin connect backwards for less than a second which caused the female connectors on the battery to weld to the male pins on the negative terminal... gave me quite a fright.

I can't see any obvious damage to the battery pack, heatshrink, terminals and cables look ok and it's still reading 41.xx v, though i haven't pulled it out of the shell as it's got white hard blobs of something holding it in (i'd be keen to know what this stuff is if anyone knows).

Not sure if the battery has a fuse but would either the motor or the battery likely to have been damaged?
