First track I’m not totally ashamed of after a few months.

I’m a hobbyist and treat it as a never-ending learning curve, with me somewhere near the bottom just enjoying the process without any rush.

My main issue is figuring out what to focus on next—there’s just so much to learn. Right now I’m leaning toward arrangement, just so I can finish things and move on.

My son will get his surgery next week and I want to understand his experience more.

So my son has been cross-eyed since very early on and is now 5 years old. I understand that he perceives depth differently than I do and will probably never use both eyes together to determine depth. So 3D movies likely aren't a thing for him.

I'm curious how people with a similar condition experience depth and whether they sometimes, or under certain circumstances, notice the lack of that information. Really, I'd love to hear anything that could enhance my understanding of how he sees and experiences the world—both differently from and similarly to me.

Edit: Thanks so much for the replies. I’m also very curious to hear your anecdotal experiences dealing with the lack of depth perception. I might never (fully) understand what it’s like, but I’d really like to know what he’s dealing with. Even though he might not even notice it himself.
