What brand should I go for after my camera was stolen?

So I got into photography like 2 years ago, and my starter camera was an R50. Slowly built up a bit of a lens collection, but not huge. I was recently traveling, and my camera + Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 got stolen (😞).

I still have 3-4 RF or EF-adapted lenses. I especially love my EF-S 55-250. Do y'all recommend getting another camera in the Canon ecosystem to use these? Or sell them and start building a fresh lens collection? Do you have any specific brand preferences/recommendations?

(1) Budget, country, and currency: ~1000€ for the body, currently living in France

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs? Well I don't have a camera body...

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot? I travel often, so I mostly do travel and street photography. Also love taking pictures of animals, but not necessarily in the camp outside for hours way.

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both? Photography

Additional info, I have back problems, so a lighter setup is probably better for me.

Someone robbed me, and it absolutely broke me

I'm 25M if that's important, but I don't think its very relevant.

Anyways I moved to a new country a month and a half ago for a PhD. It's been extremely difficult to adjust to. I was also a foreigner in my previous country, but I spent 3 years building up a life there.

This week was my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend, and I wanted to go visit her. We were in-person dating until I moved, and now we're trying to adapt to an LDR. I took off work for a couple days this week bc I was planning to visit, but she asked if we could do another time bc she has a really big exam next week, which ofc I don't fault her for. But since I already had the days off, I figured I'd do some solo travel. When I have too much free time, my mind starts wandering and I get very anxious and sad.

I don't know what I was expecting here. I was already sad and lonely in the other city, and this weekend, I literally signed up to be alone. So of course, I spent like 2 days super anxious bc I was alone the whole time, and then I decided to go out on Saturday with some people from my hostel. We went to a bar and my backpack was on the back of my chair. I actually had a nice time, but when we were packing up to leave, I noticed my backpack had been opened and someone took my camera bag out of it. I bought the camera a couple years ago, and the lens that was on it was new. I had been saving up for \~6 months and literally just bought it as a gift to myself for getting a job. In total, they probably took like 1200€ from me.

After that I just broke. I was already drunk, but I went to a kiosk and bought a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of wine. After that I completely blacked out and woke up in my hostel. Sent my gf some voice notes that I regret. Called friends apparently. I don't know what to do. I've spent the last 24+ hours just in my hostel crying or watching Netflix. Completely wasted this trip. If losing the camera stuff wasn't enough, I may as well have burned the 200€ I spent on this weekend. I want to look for therapy, but I don't have insurance in the new country yet, and its 100+€ to pay out of pocket for an English language therapist. I really don't know what to do
