The baby next door will not stop crying

Sushi from one of my favorite spots

I’m the oldest of four. I shared a room with my two sisters until I was 18. I get it babies cry and get sick or get colicky or whatever. I know moms are trying their best.

The baby next door will not stop crying. I’ve overheard the mom say “oh you know they’re basically infants until they are two. What can you do?”

I’m like no. Please no. The baby wakes me up crying. I like hanging out in my backyard because it’s 100% perfect summer weather. The whole time it’s the baby crying. I can hear the baby crying right now.

Somehow my husband doesn’t hear the baby but it doesn’t matter if the windows are closed or if I have noise canceling headphones in all I hear is this poor baby. I wish I could do something. But instead here is the rant.

Out of state in CA. Rental is in WA.

First time landlord. Not trying to be a slum lord. We had everything professionally pet cleaned, repainted, etc before moving out. We did walk a through, the renters did a walk through.

The renters broke the fridge door and lied about it. I started writing out the whole story but this is the gist. They said they did nothing. Two separate service techs said they clearly broke it either by hanging on it or shutting a metal serving instrument in it.

Point is I don’t even care what happened. But because they lied this whole issue is taking over a month to resolve.

They reported us to the city before they reported the issue to us. The city official said “I don’t want to do bs paperwork just fix the issue”.

We’ve now bought a new fridge and it’s coming on the fifth.

I’m so frustrated because if the renters told us any believable story or even just some version of “hey magically the door hinge broke and it’s serious” we could have responded so much more quickly and appropriately.
