Can I use a 2.5Gbps Ethernet adapter with PS5?

The built in Ethernet port is only 1Gbps from what I understand, but my router and internet connection are faster than that. I was wondering if plugging a 2.5Gbps USB Ethernet adapter into the PS5 would let it use the faster connection, or if the PS5 just won’t recognize it properly. Also, does USB 3.0/3.2 make any difference here? Not really trying to get crazy download speeds, mostly want the most stable connection possible for online gaming and downloads. Has anyone actually tried a 2.5Gbps adapter on PS5 and got it working?

Is Chrome still the best browser for Windows?

Been seeing people switch to Firefox, Edge, Brave and even Vivaldi lately, so kinda wondering if Chrome is still worth sticking with. Like, is it actually faster or better for everyday stuff, gaming, YouTube, tabs, extensions etc, or are the others just as good now? Also how bad is Chrome with RAM these days? My PC isn’t exactly a monster lol. Don’t really care about fancy features, just want something fast, stable, not eating all my memory, and with decent privacy. What browser are you guys using on Windows right now, and what made you pick it over Chrome? Curious what people actually think.

My laptop fan is constantly running even when I'm doing nothing. Why?

It starts spinning pretty much as soon as I turn the laptop on and sometimes gets really loud even when I only have the browser open. Task Manager doesn’t seem to show anything crazy using CPU, so I’m kinda confused what’s causing it. Could background apps, Windows updates, dust, or high temperatures make the fan run like this? The laptop isn’t super old and I don’t remember it doing this before. Is there something I should check first before assuming the fan or cooling system has a problem?

Is a gaming laptop worth it if I never travel?

Kinda confused about this because most of the reasons I see for getting a gaming laptop are portability and being able to take your games everywhere. But if the laptop is basically gonna stay on the same desk all the time, is there actually any point?

Would a gaming laptop still make sense if it’s going to be plugged in most of the time and used like a normal desktop? I’m mainly looking at it because I can get a pretty powerful one with a good CPU/GPU, but then I started wondering if I’m just paying extra for the laptop part that I’m not even gonna use.

Also how much of a difference is there between a gaming laptop and a similarly priced desktop? I know desktops are usually better for cooling and upgrades, but is the performance gap actually that noticeable in real games?

The thing that’s confusing me is that some gaming laptops seem to have really good specs for the price, at least on paper. But I keep hearing that laptop GPUs aren’t exactly the same as desktop ones, and thermals can hold them back.

Would it be smarter to just build/buy a desktop and get a decent monitor instead? Any reason to choose the laptop if portability literally doesn’t matter?

Trying to figure this out before spending money on the wrong setup lol.

Is an external SSD worth buying for a desktop?

Is an external SSD actually worth buying for a desktop PC or is it kinda pointless compared to just installing another internal drive? Thinking about getting one mainly for extra game storage, backups, and moving large files around, but not sure if there’s a real benefit. I already have an internal NVMe SSD for Windows and most games, so this would just be extra storage. Would an external SSD be fast enough for gaming or would loading times be noticeably worse? Also does USB 3.0/3.2 make a big difference depending on the enclosure? Trying to keep things simple and don’t wanna waste money if an internal SATA SSD makes more sense. What do you guys recommend?

Is OLED a bad idea for a monitor if I leave my desktop on all day?

Thinking about getting an OLED monitor but my PC is basically on all day, sometimes with the same desktop, browser tabs, Discord, etc sitting there for hours. The burn-in thing has me kinda worried. I know newer OLED monitors have pixel shifting, screen savers and other protections, but are those actually enough if the screen gets a lot of static content? Would leaving it on like 8-12 hours a day noticeably increase the risk? I mainly game at night, so the monitor would spend a lot of daytime just showing Windows. Is OLED still worth it or should I stick with IPS to avoid worrying about it?

Why does my PS5 keep dropping from 120Hz to 60Hz?

PS5 keeps randomly dropping from 120Hz to 60Hz and I cant figure out why. TV supports 120Hz and everything was working fine before, but now some games start at 120 and then suddenly switch back to 60. Sometimes restarting the PS5 fixes it, sometimes changing the HDMI input does, and other times nothing works lol. Using an HDMI 2.1 cable and the PS5 settings are set to automatic for 120Hz output. VRR is also enabled. Could this be the cable, TV settings, game settings, or something with the PS5 itself? Is there a specific setting I should check first? Any advice appreciated.
