Advice on new friend

Okay let me see if I can keep this short. I've known I'm bi and much prefer other guys for a good while now, but only very recently have started to accept myself for that and try to be more open. So far only a couple close friends of mine know, and no one in my day to day personal life is aware. None of my family or coworkers.

Here's where my concern lies. I just recently made a new friend, we've been hanging out some and hes really cool. Hes also gay, hes out and has a boyfriend he lives with. I haven't told him 1. Cause it hasn't really come up yet, and 2. I'm still very scared to be out to anyone in my day to day, some of my close family is very religious and that's a can of worms I just don't wanna open.

Would it be respectful to tell him though? I may just be overthinking this; It's been quite some time since I've gone out of my way to try and make a friend and it's also the first other lgbt person I've befriended (I was a bit of a shut in for awhile). I just don't want him to think I was like leading him on or hiding anything if/when he finds out.

Idk, I really stress over small social interactions so this ones been taking a toll, any and all advice would be helpful please and thank you for reading.
