Update 1 year 3 months after eradication(traveling update)

Here I am writing a post at 02:39 am, for whatever reason.

I’m going to keep this short.

I tried KFC and I had about the same reaction as to pasta(a little bit of bloating that last 2 hours).

Then I ate a pulled pork sandwich at the airport(which was so salty; idk what they were thinking putting in this much salt, like fr this dish is a crime), and also had the same reaction.

Had a lot of snacking with Aeros chocolate and chips while watching movies at the airport and honestly aside from reflux I don’t notice much symptoms.

These days on holiday I’ve just been eating a lot of rice at my relative’s place in Vietnam so symptoms are meh. Not so much bloating but a lot of watery stools interestingly enough. I never believed in traveller’s syndrome but now I believe, my gut just isn’t built to handle all this unclean stuff compared to back home. Every meal has been a stomach upset despite only eating rice which is honestly stressing me out so goddamn much!!! I have to say acid reflux is the worse/and the nauseous burping when lying down, it makes it very hard to fully enjoy myself.

Anyways that’s my current experience in Vietnam, I hope you have a nice day.

Edited: I should also mention I live in UK, and that I’m currently on holiday for 4 weeks( this is the first week ). Also I had liquid nitrogen smoking ice cream- how cool is that!

Update 1 year 3 months after successfully eradicating H.Pylori

Hello everyone. It’s been 1 year and 3 months after I got rid of H.pylori bacteria and I would like to write an update on my current status to let you guys know what to expect on this journey.

To start off the bloating is still very noticeable despite having healed quite a bit, I don’t know the reason for this but recently I’ve been drinking a lot of coffee and milk/yogurt so this might have something to do with my bloating.

As for the anxiety I’m not really sure if it has improved a lot, but I think it has gotten better.

One thing I notice is that acid reflux can get really bad at night/when I wake up, yesterday I had some fruit late at night and this might be the reason.

I’ve definitely been overestimating my ability to eat all kinds of food as I’m feeling a lot more confident and this leads to bad symptoms, but at this point I honestly can’t care less because I just want to eat food I actually like instead of dry chicken breast and rice with minimal seasonings.

I’ve also been drinking a lot less water as I find out I can function normally even without drinking 2L everyday- which is honestly really hard to consume.

Yesterday I just had carbonara (pasta dish) with an absurd amount of cheese, salt, raw egg yolks and guancialle, and I actually felt OK, which is a huge sign that I’m improving because there is no way I could have tolerated that before(nearly 40g fat, 3g salt per serving).

Overall I’ve definitely felt some improvements in symptoms as well as anxiety. However whether it will continue to improve I can’t say for sure. I felt like progress has been stuck for a while and I’ve not felt any significant improvements these last few months. Perhaps my gradually worse diet counteracted my healing that I end up feeling the same as before.

I’m going on holiday for 4 weeks and during this time I will be forced to eat all kinds of food so I will give you an update about how I feel then. Good luck to anyone reading this and I wish you a good day!
