Need advice on how to appeal My WD/Medical Appeal Being Denied

I need advice.

During my Fall 2025 semester, I had a mental breakdown and had to be hospitalized in October 2025. After I was released, I attended rehab and had my medical withdrawal form filled out by my clinician during that time. I was excused for my classes but didn’t understand that I could get a financial appeal. They didn’t even send me an official appeal that I was denied. I emailed student affairs a few days ago, and they told me today my financial appeal was denied and that the case can no longer be revisited. Because I was oblivious before, I paid 1,200 for my tuition already and have 250 dollars to pay off still. I know 250 may not seem like a lot but it’s is still a lot to me.

I want to make an appeal, but I don’t know how to go about it. If you have advice on how to go about this please let me know.

I am looking back at the medical withdrawal form my clinician filled out and the document says

“**To consider grad/tuition adjustments based on medical withdrawal, we need appropriate medical documentation. Please provide a letter acknowledging the existence of medical/psychological condition of your patient that addresses the following:**
** **
**-Date you began treatment for this your patient’s condition**
**-Did this patient’s medical condition prevent or adversely impact her from attending classes? How?**
**-Is this patient medically able to return to college?”**

My clinician said this in the letter (just for privacy I’m going to replace the words that are personal):

**“So and so was admitted to this rehab on this date. Her treatment at the program is from this time and to this time, and her discharge date has not been determined yet. She has a diagnosis of bipolar disorder with current manic episode. Due to the severity of her symptoms and her current need of treatment, she is not able to engage in school at this time.**

**Please reach out to our rehab with any questions or concerns.”**

Just know that today I’m doing much better. Thanks be to God.

I want to make an appeal, but I don’t know how to go about it. If you have advice on how to go about this please let me know.

Need advice on choosing between Ramapo College and NJIT as a transfer student.

I’m graduating from community college this summer and plan to study **Chemistry** at either **Ramapo** or **NJIT**.

My end goal is to become a **cosmetic scientist** and would like to attend a school that can prepare me the most.

I want to go to a school that has **great academics, research opportunities or good labs to work in, and internships.** I would also like to have **professors** and **advisors** that are **available** for their students. I think it’s important to feel cared for as a transfer student because some schools can overlook transfers, especially if they’re coming from a community college. I do plan to **dorm** on campus.

**Any advice on what school I should go to?**
