Converted IIT Bombay finally!! 😭

Converted IIT Bombay finally!! 😭

I'm very very happy and excited to announce that I've got admitted into SJMSoM IIT Bombay MBA programme!!

This was a lonnggg wait of 2 years. And the journey was surely tough but also taught a lot of things.

Started with preparing for my first attempt in 2024 battling constant mental health struggles ranging from severe anxiety to sui***al thoughts. Ended up with 88.xx percentile with 44 in DILR.

Started all over again for 2025 and this time I don't even know how, my mental health was certainly better than previous year. I improved, had fluctuations, averaged at around 75-80 percentile in mocks but in the last week before CAT specifically in my last 3 mocks I scored an average of 65 something percentile with 67 %ile in my last mock on 27th November.

But actually those low scores showed me how bad it can go and miraculously I was calm af on the d-day and ended up with all time best performance higher than all my mocks and pyqs. Scored 99.0x percentile with a 97+ in DILR and 98+ in QA as a non engineer.

Interviews were a much much bigger monster but eventually I dealt with it and IIT Bombay interview was the most memorable one where I discussed my love for my sport I've been following since 7 years, my love for classic Hindi cinema, discussing technicalities of my family business, and cricket matches!

I want to thank this community, it was a goldmine for resources, advices, motivation and so manyy wonderful and kind people who are part of my success.

Lastly, to all my fellow buddies who couldn't make it this time, it's perfectly fine, you've got so many chances ahead, I know how it feels at the moment but please listen, it all will be ALRIGHT!

Joining SJMSOM as a non engineer, need to know the reality

So, I'm a bcom graduate and sjmsom is by far the best convert I'll have. Others being Ranchi and Kashipur.

I just wanted to know that will I be at some major disadvantage being a non engineer at IIT Bombay as the college is mainly known for IT consulting, oscm and prodman? Regardless of the situation I'll work hard as my placements will ultimately be on me only.

As far as I have talked with people, after the inclusion of around 30% non engineers last year the college has adapted pretty well providing sufficient and great roles even for non engineers.

Please give some idea in case you know more about it!
