Entering this commodity world

Hey all, looking for honest takes.

I’m Swiss (23YO), just finished a master in Business earlier this year. In my life I’ve done about 9 months as a Financial Controller and I’m now 4 months into a Project Manager role. Zero direct commodity experience.

I want to enter physical commodity trading. My plan is to target internships (worldwide). Since I lack the sector background to go straight to a junior trading role.

My questions:
• Is ~13 months of experience already too senior to be applying for internships? Will I be screened out?
• Should I hide one of my roles to look more “fresh grad”?
• Would you prioritize middle/back office entry roles over trading internships given my profile?

Genuinely trying to understand how competitive these pipelines are for « career switchers ».
