I will say being a sterile processing technician is a fun and different job. The work is hard though. It is very emotional, physical, and mentally draining. I miss the busyness of the job. I will say though the biggest reason I quit is because the bosses. The two bosses you will work for will make your life a living you know what

If you're not a favorite you will never move up, you need to tattle and take pictures of your coworkers work to move up. There very catty there, if you report them to HR they will retaliate. In a way that you were the problem, not them. Thats why I never moved up. There not fit to be bosses. All they care about is control, and if you try to give your opinion about it, its like everyday other day you be crying.

They want to lie also, lie to the people who shadow, saying oh its great to work here, blah blah. Its because everyone that works there is overworked, tired and depressed. Literally the last 6 months 5 to 6 people quit? I would have stayed for years, but the bosses wanted to pay for calling them out. They make working for Intermountain a bad bad name. It sucks too because people have complained and the company doenst do anything about it. There are multiple hr and surveys where people have called them out, and nothing ever happens. I would never work for Intermountain again with those two there.

When I put my notice in they said turn over was a good thing, i was there for 5 years... thats a good thing???

I also wanted to move up, I did everything they asked and moved other people up before me, and then told me they changed the tech leveling so I had to wait longer. Then on my last day i got yelled at and told that I didnt care about this cussing me out place and im on limited time. There rude, and there disgusting behavior. They only care about themselves and you are just another body on the chopping block. I would stay sooo far away from the sterile processing department, unless you want to cry every other day and in huddle have them talk bad about everything you do wrong. The culture is terrible there
