Angel wing or injury?
We are new duckling owners, and have realized that our duck Chores has a more serious issue that we previously thought. About a week ago it looked like someone had just pecked the tip of the wing because it looked reddish and wasn't covered with down feathers, but now it's becoming evident that there is a bigger problem. The feather shafts are visible, and Chores' right wing keeps slipping down while resting and they have to hoist it back up. I can only think that this is either angel wing or an injury like a broken or dislocated wing. Does this look like angel wing?
We have chicks as well, and while we kept them separate when younger to keep their respective nutrient balance, they've all been eating the chick feed lately. I knew about the vitamin B requirements, but didn't realize that high protein could be an issue. But it would make sense that Chores may be getting too much protein now. Our other duck, Patas, is totally fine.
I feel awful that I didn't realize the feeding mistake until now.
