2018 Kia Stinger - Smart Key Not Detecting Inside Cabin - Looking for Others Who’ve Fixed This
Hey all, hoping someone has been through this.
My 2018 Stinger has progressively lost all interior smart key detection. Both fobs fail identically. New batteries in both, main battery disconnected, fuses all checked. Nothing helped.
What still works: remote lock/unlock, mirrors unfolding on approach, hazard flash on approach, starts immediately when key is held against the start button.
What doesn’t work: both door handle buttons, boot smart key, passive entry, walk-away lock, and any interior key detection. The car auto-relocks while I’m sitting in it because it thinks no key is present.
I’ve pulled the driver’s kick panel and inspected the IBU connectors, all seated and solid.
From research it looks like either a failed interior LF antenna (part 95420-J5100) or the IBU itself (95400-J5BK0). Getting it scanned next but wanted to ask first:
Has anyone actually fixed this themselves? Where exactly is the interior cabin antenna located? Did replacing the antenna alone fix it, or did you end up needing the full IBU?
Any help appreciated.
