Now I have got every char to GoD, I assume I can now comment on the entire cast's strengths and weaknesses :)

So in the end I opted for the TCR

Hi all.

I originally posted the question of whether I should go for the TCR or Defy trying to decide whether I wanted to give up on riding fast and opt for more comfort or ignore I was turning 40 and buy another all out race bike!

In the end, a 2025 TCR Advance Pro 1 Di2 came up in a bike shop near to me- discounted from the original £4689 to £3000. It was only in "Large" and at 192cm I wasn't sure whether it would fit, but spending some time on the turbo in the shop, it seemed pretty much perfect and so here she is!

Only change I've done (so far) is swap the stock 110mm stem for a 120mm (thanks to the shop for doing this with a nice discount), I might at some point swap the tyres to some Conti 5000's tubeless as the stock Course 0's have a minimum PSI limit of 70, and being 75KG I'd normally run that lower (be curious to know if anyone else has done this and was it worth the upgrade?)

Absolutely love it and so pleased I opted to go TCR rather than Defy, having gone from a 2017 TCR with 105 rim brakes this 2025 machine feels even more rapid and I'm even beating some of my PR's I set as a younger man (who said you can't buy speed?!). Thanks all for those who contributed.
