Riders kid threw up, advise pls
Hello, I am new to the Uber/taxi job started in Feb.
It is a heaving Bank Holiday Monday in my uk seaside town, I picked up from the train station and they were only going to the beach which is a 10min walk. They waited for me to get there from a job I was already doing 20 mins away. I messaged that the traffic is really bad and I would get there soon as I could. There was mum and daughter in the back dad in the front, started having a nice chat with dad when his wife said something to him in another language then he started to look back at his kid. I ask is everything ok? And he said that she gets a little car sick but she is ok. I said are you sure I can pull over (the traffic is not really moving so no issue) he said no she will be fine she is never actually sick....ok..we go on and again he speaks to her she is not looking great I said again I will pull over, no no she is fine. We are so close to the destination we can see it but the traffic is not moving and she throws up. Mostly on her self I put on the hazards and pulled over and said did you want to take her out clean her up cause they looked at me like I should keep going. So dad gets out asks me for my tissues/wipes gave to him and i used some leather wipes on my seat. Fine not much there, then this is where I'm worried. They wanted to get back in and I said no, I will take your wife to the drop off which is just there but she can't get back in its all over her and she will make the seat dirty again. He says oh no she won't be sick again I said ..You said she wasn't going to be sick more than once before she was I am not having her back in the car. Then the wife tried to reason with me I refused they got out. I called Uber support to ask how I am meant to end the trip as if I cancel I won't get paid and if I complete they will rate me 1 maybe. Not much help so I completed and rated them 1....I forgot to take a photo .. any advise if this happens again would be much appreciated please 🙏
