After 9 years, I got the ending I wanted…
Long story short, I played this game when it first released to the middle of episode 3. Never touched it since. Never finished it. Never knew how to achieve each ending. I just knew they existed.
9 years later…
I’ve spent the last 5 days replaying A New Frontier and wow, it’s great, very overhated! I played this game naturally, no clue what would be around the next corner, and no clue what was contributing to that final ending.
However, I got the Kate and Gabe ending, which I was overjoyed with. Personally, I feel this was the best ending. David was losing it, he was so devoted to Richmond and being a soldier he was slowly losing his sense of self, he could’ve been a reason that Richmond fell under Javi’s leadership if he stayed. I spent the whole game siding with Kate, and trying to mentor Gabe into a better version of himself - so it felt very rewarding that these two survived. Javi and Kate can happily settle down, start their family and give Gabe the last bit of childhood he can have.
I wasn’t expecting this though. I was very surprised to achieve this, especially to see Gabe alive - this is what I wanted from the get go.
