Trying a new circuit

I’m experimenting with my bass’ circuit. I’m thinking using the circuit pictured, except a couple changes. I want to replace one of the knobs with a kill switch and the other with a blender pot.

My question is: how do i connect a blender pot like the one pictured to the DPDT switch so i can blend the pickups in series and parallel?

In the spirit of trying stuff

I’m in the mood of experimenting with a frankenbass i have. It’s a J style with humbuckers (dual J pickups) and it’s a nice little workhorse i tinker with. I’ve noticed over the years that (1) I practically never use the tone knob and (2) my volume is either all the way up or all the way down.

That gives me an idea that may make some people confused but whatever.

I want to try rewiring from a VVT circuit to a series/parallel switch (DPDT on-on), blend knob, and on/off switch. My thought is that those are the only adjustments i ever actually use. Plus, if the only knob is a blender the circuit should have rather low resistance and im curious if it would be noticeable in sound. If i like the circuit enough, i might copy it in my PJ bass, which i prefer.

I know how to put any of these components in a circuit by itself, but doing them all together is out of my comfort zone.
My questions are:

  1. what could a wiring diagram look like for this idea?
  2. am i insane for wanting to try this? I mean, after accounting for taste (im happy most people like tone knobs, i just don’t really use mine), is there some variable that makes this a bad idea?
  3. if resistance is really low, is any noise gonna get really bad? My pickups are hum canceling, the cavity’s shielded, and grounding’s fine, but if there is any signal interference from outside sources, would this circuit make that really obvious?
