My experience with Rips by Triump after opening way to many packs

I've seen a lot of people ask whether Rips by Triumph is legit or if anyone actually makes money on it, so I figured I'd share my experience.

I've been using it for a while now and have opened enough packs that I can honestly say it's a numbers game.

I've had nights where I got absolutely smoked and nights where I hit cards worth several times what I spent. If you're expecting every pack to be profitable, you're going to be disappointed pretty quickly.

What surprised me is that over a large sample size I've actually come out ahead overall. Not because every rip was a winner, but because a few bigger hits completely changed the math.

A rough example:

Plenty of packs where I lost 50-80% of what I spent

Lots of small wins and break-even results

A handful of big pulls that were worth several times pack cost

The biggest mistake I see people make is opening a few packs, losing, and deciding the whole app is a scam. That's not really how this works. It's closer to opening sealed wax. Most boxes won't be amazing, but one big hit can make up for a lot of average results.

The other thing I like is that the cards are actually redeemable and ship out. I've redeemed multiple cards and haven't had any issues receiving them.

Obviously don't treat it like an investment. If you're ripping because you need to make money, you're probably doing it for the wrong reason. I look at it as entertainment first, with the possibility of hitting something valuable.

That said, if I'd never started using it, I would've missed out on some of the best pulls I've had in the hobby over the last year. Looking back, those hits are what kept me opening.

One random thing worth mentioning: after referring a bunch of people over time, my account unlocked a referral tier that gives new users a free $50 pack. I didn't even realize that was a thing until recently. If anyone was already thinking about trying the app, that's probably the best way to start because you're opening with house money.

Anyone else here using Rips? What's your biggest hit so far?

2nd time reverb has held my money hostage

Recently sold a $3500 guitar on reverb. Not my first piece of gear ive sold. Last sale i had a similar thing happen and swore off selling with reverb ever again. Against my better judgment I gave them a shot one more time and I absolutely regret it. Reverb claims payout happen 1 business day after tracking updates.

5/30 - guitar shipped

5/31 - package departed my local hub.

6/2 - Its been 2 business days, check the orders app and it still shows processing. No biggie. I message the ai chatbot and it says it will flag it for manual review since it should be paid out

6/3 I connect to a live chat agent, they tell me it hasnt been 1 business day yet (its the 3rd business day now), says its been escaped and immediately ended chat.

6/4- Still no funds. Live agent immediately ends chat saying its already been escalated.

No emails from the resolution team. Now im missing a $3500 guitar and have no money. Im starting the process of filing a complaint with my states attorney General. They shouldn't advertise sales payout within 1 business day after tracking updates if they cant fulfill that.
