Starting car shopping soon- what is a car that will last me a long time that is reliable?

I bought myself a 2011 honda civic back in 2019, for around 8k- and it had 87k miles, and it has been so good to me. Now its at 220,000 miles and I have been looking for my next vehicle.

I love Toyotas, hondas, mazdas, and Infinitis. But, I have been reading Toyota and honda is best. I love sedans, but... my family is pushing for me to get something that ain't a sedan with more protection if that makes sense, and, I kinda agree unfortunately. My budget is more in 20-23k range, mileage preferably around 30-50k (that can flex- im spewing numbers out my ass, will edit later if needed once I look at KBB). And.. decent gas mileage is great. I drive an prob 2 hours and some change 5 days a week to work.

Any suggestions?

Also, does anyone have any thoughts on hybrids and their reliability? How long do they last- I have heard they have expensive parts that once they go out its better to replace whole thing- is that true?

Thank you!

Attention Game Devs, we NEED an OG SQUIRREL GIRL skin. With the tail. It cannot be cutsiefied. We yearn for it to be as close to the source material as possible. I will drop so much money on that skin, and I know other people will be all over it.
