Question about former employer withholding certification sign-off.
I've worked in a niche construction industry for six years, I'd taken a number of classes for the company and have a decent portfolio of my work.
I've since moved provinces and my former employer has dragged his feet for two years in signing off in my hours so I cannot claim my certifications on a resume.
It's been seven months since I moved, I've been turned down for a number of jobs because I haven't got my certifications but the only thing holding me back on that front is my old employer's disinterest in filling out their paperwork.
Is there anything that I can do here? I need the work desperately, I have the experience, I have the training. I don't know if my employer dislikes me or something but he's been radio silent for a while now.
I have reached out to the organization who handles these certificates but they have not responded.
