I’m from Europe and would like to rent an apartment in Osaka for four to six months. What would be the best way to go about it? Can anyone recommend reliable rental agencies? I’ve heard bad things about rental agencies in Tokyo.

Edit: As an european (EU) on a tourist Visa I can stay up to 180 days per year in Japan (I think). Therefore I would think, I need an agency for renting. An alternative may be ​Airbnb. Question: do you know reliable alternatives for Airbnb?

Edit 2: It is just meant as an extendent vacation. I don't want to work and I am not a 'Digital nomad'
