20”x42” Pellet (Stainless or Regular)

Howdy, y’all,

Looking to upgrade to a LSG Pellet. I have researched many different brands and the #1 thing for me was the fully welded box. Zero high temp silicone is used. I don’t want to spend 3k+ on a pellet that has a shortcut there (Yoder). I also am big on American made and lasting quality.

My questions are:

- they say there is no performance different between the regular vs. stainless. Anyone have any input on this? Really want to get the stainless due to my humid climate.

- door weights? The regular door is sturdy, and all there, which is what I want in a smoker. It feels like a tank. Does the stainless have that same feel? I had an old pit-master who owned his place for a long time say when buying a smoker, the door weight and feel will tell you if it’s quality made. I am in no way saying LSG isn’t that, but it sticks with me and I just had to ask prior to making this investment.

- heat retention? How does the stainless due in retaining heat? I use my current set up to meal prep large batches of chicken, etc. Even when it’s cold out, I use it.

Any input would be great.

Thank you!
