Since when did kids' birthdays become full-blown events?
I swear I'm gonna lose my fucking mind over today's ridiculous expectations.
Today I got an online invitation to a kid's first birthday. Not just an invitation, but a whole professionally made video that lasted several minutes.
The birthday isn't even for another two months, and we already have to RSVP.
And the best part? It's being held in another city because apparently driving an extra 100+ km is now part of celebrating a first birthday.
When the fuck did kids' birthdays start being treated like weddings? Restaurants, live music, giant inflatable slides, endless entertainment... it's all so unnecessary and over-the-top.
Does anyone actually enjoy this or are parents just trying to outdo each other?
Am I the only one who misses simple backyard birthdays with cake and a few balloons? 🥹
