But Aarti’s mom saw their astrology and found it didn't match—Ravi uyir ku abathu, or something like that. (Turns out he was right 🤪) So, both parents decided to call off the wedding. Aarti stopped talking to him. Ravi couldn't forget her, and he self-harmed. Aarti later went to see him. Since then, they've been inseparable, madly in love, and their parents half-heartedly agreed. This was mentioned in Kumudham or Amanda Vikatan. Back then Ravi was a big star, and a story about self-harm could have damaged his image. Still, he said that. It's not the other way around.
