Hey I Hey everyone, I’m planning a short temple trip and could really use some local advice.
I’ll be reaching Mangalore around 11:20 AM and planning to visit both Udupi Sri Krishna Temple and Kollur Mookambika Temple. I’m confused about which route would be better:
Mangalore → Udupi → Mookambika
or
Mangalore → Mookambika → Udupi
Considering temple timings, darshan experience, crowd, and travel convenience, which would you recommend?
Also, what would be the best travel option for this trip?
KSRTC buses
Trains
Private taxis
Self-drive rental cars
Would renting a self-drive car from Mangalore be a good and practical option for covering Udupi + Kollur comfortably in 1–2 days? I’m okay with driving if the roads and parking situation are manageable.
Would really appreciate suggestions from locals or anyone who has done this route before. Thanks!
