18 month old sleep habits

Hi everyone. Ever since my little boy was around 9/10 months he has been well able to self settle for sleep. We would follow the same routine at nap and bedtime and pop him in his cot and off he’d go. He hasn’t always been the best sleeper at night but always good at going down.

Anyways about 3 weeks ago he started refusing nap and bedtime, I think he may have went through some type of regression I’m not sure, and I’m not even sure if it’s over! His nights wakes have gotten better but he still won’t self settle. I’m trying here today for his nap, going in and out reassuring him he’s ok etc, but he just keeps standing up in cot giving out and throwing his dummy and teddies across the room.

We resorted to holding him to sleep when this all kicked off simply to survive, but we’re now at the end of our tether with this too and want to get him back into good habits.

Would anyone have any advice on how to help him get back into self settling again at this age? Feel he’s so much older and wiser now it makes it harder!

Bleed at 8w 1d

Has anyone ever experienced a bleed at 8w and everything been ok? I felt a bit crampy and just went to the bathroom and there was blood, kind of like at the start of a period. I don’t know what to do.

We only had an early scan last weekend and everything was perfect. And we’re going on our first family holiday on Monday. Don’t know what to do 😭

Caraban

Hi everyone. I’m 5w 4d today and already feeling so nauseous these past few days. I’m with my GP this week to confirm pregnancy and be referred etc. is it too early to be prescribed Caraban (think that’s what it is called)? We have a holiday in 3 weeks also and really don’t want to be feeling horrible over there.

Toddler first holiday

Hello everyone!

Have our first family holiday in 3 weeks and our little boy will be 17 months at time of travel. Looking for any recommendations of what to pack, must have items for the plane and for the holiday itself etc. fairly stressed about the flight, he doesn’t like to sit idle haha.

Appreciate all your recommendations and advice 😊

Early Gender Tests

My partner and I were chatting about finding out the gender of our baby and I was explaining that a friend of mine in Australia had standard NIPT testing and found out their gender at 10 weeks. We did a random Google to see if there are any random places that you can find out the gender using bloods and came across a website based in Ireland called AlphaBiolabs and it’s 119 for the test and you can test as early as 6 weeks.

Now we wouldn’t go with this, because we both feel we couldn’t trust it for some reason 😂 but out of curiosity, has anyone used this website and the results been accurate? I just feel I wouldn’t believe it until I had a scan to confirm 😂

Portiuncula care

Hey everyone, bit of a random one but has anyone here had their maternity care in Portiuncula as a plus size woman lately? My first pregnancy was there and my BMI is high but I wasnt considered high risk then and had midwife led care. Had a great pregnancy and birth. With everything going on in PUH and high risk pregnancies being moved to Galway, im so nervous they are including women with a high BMI in this. I've just found out im pregnant and terrified I wont get my care there! I live so close and loved my whole experience there first time around!

500e note?

Lads, we sold a mobile home and were given 2 500 euro and 1 200 euro note. Tried to lodge these in the credit union this morning and they wouldn't accept them.

I'll give the banks a call on Tuesday but out of curiosity, has anyone lodged a 500 euro note in the AIB recently? Or actually know anywhere that takes them to spend?

Stroller/Travel Stroller

Hey everyone! Im looking for recommendations for a stroller I can use day to day for my 15 month old. Nice and light and compact. And something that would also be suitable for travelling and flying.

Its important it will last longer than standard strollers, as my boy is the 99th centile and already massive in our Uppababy V3 🤣

Thanks!
