Yesterday, someone posted a very long post about the real story, contained in the archives of the first abyss we travel to from Hernand. Then I wrapped up Chapter 9. Towards the end, I had to "seek enlightenment." No spoilers, but what was said to me hit so much differently now that I know why Kliff is the way he is. The words would've seemed hollow and trite without the spoilers. With the spoilers, they made sense.

I feel like there should be more of a push for the player to discover these spoilers as early as possible. For example, in ancient greece, all the way up to the days of shakespeare, it was quite common to begin a play with a pantomime that spoiled the entire story. People didn't watch plays for twists or the ending. They watched the play to see how well the story was performed that they already knew. I wish I would've known this stuff earlier.
