I spent $2,000 on Google Ads, got 130 businesses to try my SaaS — and only 1 paid. What am I getting wrong?
I built a small SaaS called Reviewance.
The idea is very simple:
Businesses know they need more Google reviews, but asking customers for reviews can feel awkward, repetitive and stressful. Staff have to say things like “Could you please leave us a review?” over and over again.
I built Reviewance to make that process almost effortless.
Businesses create a stylish QR code, place it at the right moment in the customer journey, and customers can scan it and leave a review in a few seconds — without staff having to ask customers personally.
So far, the usage numbers are actually quite interesting:
- I spent around $2,000 on Google Ads.
- 130 businesses started a free trial.
- 20+ businesses generated more than 3 QR scans.
- 10+ businesses generated more than 5 QR scans.
- But only 1 business has actually paid.
This is where I'm confused.
The businesses that try it seem to understand the problem. They create QR codes, download them, and some of them actually put them into use.
But almost nobody converts to a paid subscription.
My assumption before launching was:
“Every business wants more Google reviews → asking for reviews is annoying → I'll make asking for reviews effortless → businesses will pay for it.”
Clearly, something in that logic is wrong. I'm particularly interested in hearing from founders who have built B2B SaaS products for small/local businesses.
If you look at these numbers, where would you investigate first?
And if this were your product, what would you do next?
Brutal feedback is welcome.
