Disliking the experience
I came In In March as a Tech Consultant after my Accenture tenure was a fiasco (management was really clueless about their business). First I expected SC but got Consultant II and realized Im not moving up till next year best case. This wasnt clear to me.
Ive got a pretty solid project on a FS client In databricks (think about domain data lead). Im working the hardest and most complex workstream of the project, by miles. I was super motivated by the challenge when I started to realize most of my SC were taking visibility for my work internally. Basically my domain is technical complex, Im managing a junior team from another consultant firm and they are constantly wearing me down with polítics and their lack of maturity. Im realizing i get double the work for the same crédit internally or am I tripping? Actually I think other than the client no one else on my team has an idea of the complexity of it.
The hierarchy culture is dysfunctional. My manager refuses to share relevant information with me, he mentioned he only talks with SC. Around the office theres a bunch of bootlicking, people who only have some interest towards you for your rank. Your ability and skills matter very little unless you have a reputation or rank. Feels super hard to genuinely connect In this environment, too performative.
Thats it, Im enjoying the work Im doing a lot but everything else about the company sucks. Its specially hard to keep going when Im not get promoted this cycle and financially im leaving too much money on the table right now.
Would leaving at 6 months BE só bad?
