I have had these white spots/discoloration on my teeth for a long time and asked my dentist why, since I am diligent about my dental hygiene. My dentist and dental hygienist told me it’s due to sleeping with my mouth open, and that my teeth dry out. They said to put Vaseline on my teeth every night to help it.

One of my family friends who is a dentist told me that he wouldn’t recommend doing it due to possible ingestion of too much over time/ trapping bacteria. He suspects the marks are due to fluorosis instead.

I’m curious to know what other dentists think before I start using Vaseline.
