Roach help
Hi everyone!! I am in search of support and help along this pest control journey. Long story short, my husband and i moved into a beautiful home from 1978, in a HEAVILY forested area in Alabama. Now I have lived in Alabama almost my whole life— So i know there are roaches, i am used to the occasional city roach. But now, I am facing smokey brown roaches coming down from the trees!! Given, it’s not *that* bad, we have only had a few in the house that i have seen (i know they’re lurking around but if they stay out of my way then i can pretend they don’t exist), and i’ve caught a few babies on glue traps near unsealed doors etc, mostly when it’s raining heavily. I KNOW that this is a small price to pay for a beautiful home in the forest but flying roaches, that are super fast, and descend from trees onto the house are basically my worst nightmare. My anxiety around this is incredibly bad- like my husband says i wake up in the middle of the night talking about roaches. So my questions here are:
We are doing external pest control w/ Talak, i have Advion glue placed in wall voids (like outlets holes etc,) and we are in the time consuming process of “sealing” the house the best we can, ie caulking, weather stripping etc. Are there any other suggestions out there? Or things to consider/try or to look out for?
i am well aware that I have to get over this eventually, but right now my anxiety is through the roof (where the roaches are!!) and my husband is at his wits end with my sleep talking about roaches. Does anyone have suggestions of how they have overcome this fear or faced it successfully?? anything to tell me that i’m not alone in this!!!
