AITAH for punching
AITAH for punching when I woke up
Lemme just preface this by saying I get hypnagogic hallucinations (fancy way of saying sleep hallucinations) constantly like most times I fall asleep i get them and its truly terrifying as it happens when im half awake half sleep
Anyways my dad knows I have these and he knows if he wants to wake me up do it from my doorway not looming over me or somethings gonna startle me and I might lash out
So when he woke me up for school me must have forgotten or something but for a few moments all I see is a looming shadowy figure with glowing eyes and all I hear is heavy breathing so of course I try punch it away because fight or flight kicks in and im terrified
A few moments later I finally wake up properly realise what I did and get up to help trying to apologise and ask if I can help at the same time but my dad is so mad he just ends up yelling at me that im stupid and am grounded till my exams are over for that punch
The thing is I didn't even punch him that hard and I apologised AITAH for punching him even though I apologised and tried to help after I did it?
