Chances at getting into McCombs w/ these stats
Title. I'm a rising senior deciding whether or not I should apply Econ or McCombs.
GPA: Top 8% of my class. 3.98 UW. In state. I'm at a really really competitive high school that's majority Asian (UT frequently dips past the top 10% to accept people from this school in competitive majors like ECE, Econ in COLA, various stuff in the CNS, etc, but it's dicey for McCombs).
SAT: 1560
Fives on all APs so far and projected fives on most APs for this year (includes "hard" ones like AP Calculus, Lang, Physics, etc)
Have taken like 18 AP/IB classes by end of high school.
Asian, mid to high-income.
ECs: Vague so I don't get doxxed lol
Debate team captain. Ranking that places me top 3 internationally for my debate event. Received debate award for the top 0.01% of debaters in the nation.
Co-editor-in-chief for my school newspaper and former news editor. Won varoius state level and national awards for my journalism work, but far less prestigious than debate stuff.
Position in my local High School Young (political party) group.
Co-founded tutoring organization that has reached students across the nation and generated 5 figures in revenue.
Random economics/political science blogs, polisci ecs, student orgs, and things of that nature - not going super into detail because of doxxing reasons, they're all like mediocre tier 2-2.3 ECs though
Essays: haven't done a lot considering year just ended but preliminary drafts are okay? i'm a good writer i think?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
