Can international students travel home after finishing semester requirements before the official holiday starts?
Hi everyone,
I’m an international student studying at RMIT University in Melbourne, and I’m currently in my second semester.
My classes and assignments will be completed by Week 13, which is around the first week of June. However, according to the academic calendar, the official semester break starts on June 29.
Unfortunately, my grandparents back in my home country are very ill, and I would really like to travel home as soon as I finish all my assignments and any exams in early June.
I plan to return to Australia well before the next semester starts, and my student visa is valid.
My question is: Is it okay for international students to leave Australia after completing all academic requirements, even if the official holiday period has not started yet?
Has anyone done something similar? Were there any issues with immigration, visa conditions, or university attendance requirements?
