Hey guys, I made a post here a few months ago, where I expressed concerns about my safety as an upcoming Indian student in Australia. A lot has changed in these few months and I think I have a really positive perspective about my decision to study in Australia. Firstly I got into three of the Go8 colleges with scholarships. On top of that, I made so many friends who reached out to me from my posts as well as from online events. And I am so happy to say I was worried about nothing. The people at least till now from what I have interacted with are really really nice and welcoming. I am so glad I made my decision to study here and not the common countries that the rest of my college friends went to.
Every Australian that I have interacted with till now was overly warm and kind to me. This whole episode has actually made me realise how much I have just made opinions based on the internet which was just a bubble. I am actually excited to join Australia soon.
I don't understand why back at home everyone had this notion that Australians are kinda racist. I don't know what would happen when I land but till now I think I am really happy to be joining a university in Australia. I don't know what the future holds for me when I land there in a few months but overall considering I made a good bunch of friends I think I am pretty confident it's gonna be really good.
