Balancing FSAE with ECE work

I'm an incoming ECE student for this fall. I want to do CMU racing as I find it really cool and want to continue doing something similar to FIRST robotics in college. I'm worried about how easy it is to balance that with ECE coursework. In my fall semester, I'm hoping to do 18100, 21241, 15122, either 76101 or two minis, and 99101. My sophomore year and beyond I'll have more difficult and time consuming classes as well after seeing all the courses. How much time out of a week does FSAE take up usually? What are some tips on balancing with with ECE coursework?

CMU ECE vs Gatech EE

Just got off the waitlist for Gatech EE and now I have a decision to make. I really enjoy robotics having done it all 4 years in high school, and definitely want to study it, and focus on mechatronics and embedded systems electives. That being said, georgia tech has a higher electrical engineering rank than CMU, and is generally stronger in more hardcore areas of EE like RF, analog, and power systems, so I still am picking between the two. How do class sizes, advisors, ability to get into classes and clubs, recruitment pipelines and anything else impacting my opportunities differ between CMU and Gatech?

Side note: costs are roughly the same, I get pretty good aid for both and the difference is small enough that my family will cover me going to either school, and I won't have to take out loans.

I'm applying to CMU next year and want to do ECE, what is the average admit rate in regular decision for it? I heard its lower than the average engineering, and I've heard estimates and seen searches ranging from 18% all the way down to 6%, so I'm wondering how competitive it actually is.

I got rejected from all my top choices - MIT, stanford, Cal, Gatech - for electrical engineering. I've wanted to go to MIT since I was 10 after watching 21, and getting rejected EA just hit me like a ton of bricks. How do you deal with knowing you could've done so much differently and had better results? I worked for good grades and test scores and it didn't matter in the end. I keep asking myself what I could've done differently, how do you cope?
