Let’s talk about series pls
For writers/readers here, what makes a book series feel like an actual series to you?
I’ve been thinking about writing a series, pero curious ako how other writers actually plan theirs. Do you start with an overall theme/concept first, then build each book around it? Or do you write one book, realize there are more stories you want to tell in the same world, and the series grows from there?
And as a reader, ano rin yung hinahanap niyo para masabi niyong cohesive yung series? Does it have to follow the same characters or an overarching plot, or enough na connected sila through the same world, theme, place, family/friend group, etc. kahit standalone naman bawat isa sa book.
Would also love to know how you plan individual books without making them feel too similar to each other, while still making the whole series feel like they belong together.
