What caught my attention was how differently people reacted to it. Almost all the girls tried opening the door once and, when it didn’t open immediately, gave up and asked for help. On the other hand, most of the boys tried two or three times and eventually managed to open it themselves.
The door wasn’t actually that difficult to open—it just required a little extra effort and perhaps a couple of attempts. What I found interesting was the difference in approach: some people seemed more willing to keep trying when something didn’t work immediately, while others were quicker to ask for help.
It made me wonder whether this could partly be influenced by how boys and girls are raised. Boys are often encouraged to figure things out on their own and keep trying, whereas girls may sometimes be encouraged to seek help sooner. Of course, this is just an observation from one situation and doesn’t apply to everyone, but it was interesting to notice.
