Woke up and noticed a small reddish scab and patch of hair missing from my 10 month old whippet. What could this be?
Vet is closed today and tomorrow and I’d rather not go to the Emergency vet unless it’s urgent.
We went to the park yesterday and he was roughing Houston playfully but the spot is covered by his cooling vest so I don’t know what else it could be from.
He is on simparica trio every 30 days so he’s protected from ticks and things like that.

How long are your flare ups?
I was diagnosed with a sliding hiatal hernia 4 years ago and back then I was in rough shape for a few months. My main symptoms are coughing, gagging, food feeling stuck in throat.
3 weeks ago they came back and I feel like I can’t take a deep breath and my cough is terrible.
How long before it will calm back down?

Is L Theanine okay to take on a maintenance dose of Eliquis?
The literature says it has vague blood thinning properties. I’m on 2.5 mg Eliquis twice daily.

For those in hotter climates, do you let your sighthound play and run during summer?
Our whippet loves the park and to run and play with other dogs. We go everyday but live in Florida and it gets hot. We also have cold water on hand and we have a cooling vest we keep on him that stays wet. I saw a post that said don’t take them outside in the summer at all.
