Let's talk Shorts, and how it's all broken.

So I have a channel, 700 subs. Growing slowly but steady. Long form content is ok, nothing to talk about here. But for shorts, for 6 months I tried everything, producing 2 shorts a week. On IG or FB, some do 100-150k views, but on YT - 5, sometimes 10. When I notify subscribers - they watch it, and they get 100, but its 100% subscribers, no discovery phase...

I tried everything, different shorts, music, native uploads, weekly breaks, uploadin 7 days in a row, checked my channel and account status... Nothing. 0.

The only moment when it was normal, were the first 3 days of the channel. They got 1-2k back then. First 3 shorts. Then - 0... Nothing. They are searchable, and people sometimes watch them by searching, some even enter shorts feed, but its barely anything.
Despite AVD of 70-100%, Stayed to watch 70-80% - nothing.

I'm really close to give up on Shorts, and my feelings about YT are at the lowest level ever as for today.

I also have this weird thing going on, where I have to verify with my ID, every month, to unlock advanced features, then YT write me an email sayning "your ID is no longer needed" but then, my advanced features disappear, and I have to send my ID again. And it's going like this for 9 months now. 24 full videos, 80 shorts, 700 subs, hundreds of comments - yet still YT says it's not enough channel history ?

I contacted them on twitter, customer support, sent feedback - just need anybody do anything, but they are as useless as anybody can be... "check our Community Guidelines jada jada jada". I'm a patient man, but boy, it's simply absurd situation. I really hope there is a competition for them rising somewhere, because rn, it's a horror....

If anybody have any advices, or had similar problems, let me know. Cheers.

The part you hear but never see.

For the last couple of years I was making a lot of videos — semi-professional stuff.

The biggest pain in the ass was always finding good music and a soundtrack. I was absolutely shocked how low the average quality and creativity is, even on top platforms like Artlist, MusicBed or Epidemic Sound. It made my ears bleed.

And this is where things got interesting. I'm a musician and sound engineer, but didn't work in the industry for a while. I did some side hustles from time to time. So I did a test — made something for myself, then scored a couple of projects for videographers I knew. Both landed perfectly. One of those led to a high budget trailer. They took it exactly as it was.

Now here's why I'm writing this: I don't do it for money. I do it because I love great videos with perfectly fitted soundtracks. And what comes my way doesn't always tick all the boxes. I'm hungry for a good video that needs a soundtrack. I won't be throwing links to my profiles here or showing you anything I've done. If you have an interesting video, movie, trailer, clip, short — anything that needs a soundtrack, and you're done with what's available online — show it to me. Write me a message. I'll watch it, and if I feel it, we can talk.

It's not an offer, promotion or anything like that. I'm just a guy hungry for a good video adventure.
