I should've been more scared and cancelled it
TL;DR: The classic cafe-scam.
Update for all the people who wanted to know how it went.
Yesterday she told me she was from Dwarka and was only here for the weekend bec her sister is 8mo pregnant and her brother-in-law was out of town, so she was helping take care of her. Fair.
When I suggested a couple of places to meet, she said she didn’t know any of them and asked me to pick her up from a metro station instead. Sounded reasonable to me since she wasn’t from around here and didn’t insist on any specific cafe/mall.
Now remember when I said she agreed to a vc before meeting? Yeah… that was a lie. When I asked for even a selfie or her IG, she got defensive and hit me with: “Vese tum itne detective kyu ban rhe ho” 😭
Then comes the bigger twist.
I was waiting at the agreed place when she called and said she was “across the road” from where I was. Fine. But then she started giving me detailed directions on how to reach her, a little too confidently for someone who supposedly didn’t know the area at all.
And right then, my scooty broke down. I had to drag it to a mechanic near the parking where we were supposed to meet. Eventually I saw her and ofc, she looked nothing like the photos. Man, like it was a totally different girl.
She immediately started talking about the scooty and said:
“Pehle park kar dete, mechanic ko baad me dikha lete. Ab mechanic se lene wapas aana padega 5 min baad.” which, I think, everyone can interpret lol.
Then she started pushing hard to go to a cafe, and I knew exactly what kind of setup this was heading toward. So I just folded my hands, left the place, and dipped🙏🏽
And while leaving she says:
“Pehle bata diya karo ye sab karna hota hai to, time waste karne aa jaate ho.” like BRUH. You literally catfished me and wasted my time😭 The audacity is insane.
Absolute disaster of a day.
PSA: If someone creates urgency around meeting, avoids verification completely, and keeps steering you toward a specific setup/location, just don't go man. It ain't worth the hassle.
