Eye exam for Boat Crew
For the Boat Crew Eye Exam, is there a form my eye doctor needs to fill out? Or an example letter? A list of what all the eye exam needs to include other than acuity and color blindness….
Please and thank you

I just joined the Auxiliary. I've got no rank or position.... and I'm told there's a "device" or "pin" that's supposed to go on the cap. I found the VANGUARD CG AUX collar patches on shopgx.com.... but I can't find the hat equivalent pin.
Simple I know... but I can't find it.
Help please. Can someone post a link?
Is AUXILIARY BOAT CREW QUALIFICATION HANDBOOK–16794.52A the right reference to figure out what to do to get qualified as Boat and leading to Coxswain? And why is it so hard to find? Can someone provide me a link?
New guy trying to find his way.....
I have a couple spots in my forward and aft bilges that hold 3/4 of an inch of water even with the boat jacked up at an angle on the trailer.
What if I poured 3/4 of an inch of deep pour epoxy in each of those areas to fill it? do you think it would drain properly then??
I may be overthinking this....
I use pin fish traps to catch live bait at the marina before I head out fishing.... my process is as follows.... I take any leftover frozen bait that's thawed but wasn't used in a trip (or unused live bait) and stuff it into molds to freeze. I got some molds that are the perfect size for my bait traps. That all works pretty good.
I was thinking about all the "potential bait" that I throw away cleaning fish. Even after cleaning there's still a good amount of meat on the carcases we all toss out at the cleaning station.
Is there something like an industrial meat grinder you could toss the carcases in? and then put it in my molds?.... Yeah, I know... for the cost of the grinder I could buy a lot of bait for catching live bait.... but I was wondering what solutions others have

I've got a 2025 Cobia 285 Open. I understand it's normal to get some water in the bilges.
But when I get home and jack the trailer up as high as I can get it to create the greatest drainage angle.... both the forward and aft bilges don't drain completely... there's 3/4" of water not draining. Thus, I end up with mildew in those areas because doesn't drain and the humidity where I live doesn't allow it to evaporate quickly enough.
I suppose I could put air circulation fans in those areas after each use to help the evaporation.... or maybe pour some epoxy in the low spots to induce drainage....
How do others solve this problem... or do you not worry about it... or is this a design flaw in my boat?
Advice appreciated.
This guy hung out and chatted with us for probably 20 minutes yesterday.... there was a pod of 5 dolphins in the area but this one was super curious about the boat and VERY curious when I put the camera in the water.
What is the BEST reel for sword fishing in the Gulf? But more importantly, WHY?
I hear about Lindgren-Pitman LP SV-1200 as the best, but why is it the best?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts
I've got a Cobia 285 Open which I trailer from my house to the boat ramp and back.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.... the love bugs.... After making a lap this week... you would not believe the number of love bug splatters I'm cleaning. I wish I was exaggerating... thousands... and how the heck I end up with love bugs in some of the places... unbelievable.
So here's my question.... for those of you that trailer your boats..... do you use covers? what do you use???
I was looking at this...
Thoughts and feedback appreciated.
