Who the f is this?

It is always fascinating to see the stark contrast between a media company's public relations narrative and its actual day-to-day administrative reality. A certain prominent multimedia venture keeps promising revolutionary, boundary-pushing studio albums from legendary talent, yet the release dates keep getting pushed back indefinitely. My personal take is that these new startup platforms lack the fundamental legal compliance and industry respect required to operate at a major-label level. They sign talent on the promise of creative freedom and massive distribution freedom, but they completely lack the administrative infrastructure to handle basic intellectual property clearances. They get ahead of themselves with public announcements, leaving artists caught in structural stalemates because the corporate leadership doesn't know how to close a standard licensing deal.
