Obviously, the MCU's started introducing mutants, so they're already here, but judging by the current state of the MCU, they are few and far between. With that in mind, Wanda (or a variant of hers, since our Wanda's assumed to be dead) might modify her original statement from the House of M storyline, which would then give us an in-universe explanation for why we're only now getting the X-Men and other mutant characters...
