do i quit my job?

do i quit my job?

I’m 23 and currently working a casual retail job while trading on the side.

I’m up $4.3k so far this month from taking one trade most days, which is already around what I make in a month at work. It’s getting harder to keep showing up for shifts knowing one trade can make more than I earn all day.

I know one good month isn’t enough to rely on, but at what point does keeping the job become a waste of time?

should i quit my second job?

I've been working two jobs for a while because I need the money, but lately trading has started bringing in enough that I'm wondering if I can finally treat it as my second income instead.

Part of me wants to quit one job so I can put that time into trading, reviewing my sessions and actually having a bit of a life outside of work.

The other part of me keeps thinking that the second I start relying on trading for part of my income, everything changes. I see people say all the time that once you need the money, the psychology is completely different.

I'm not saying I'm quitting tomorrow, I'm just at the point where it's becoming a real option instead of something that seemed impossible a year ago.

For the people who've been through it, what made you realise you were actually ready?

does trading ever actually feel "safe"?

I've been trading for a while now and things are definitely more consistent than they used to be. The account is moving in the right direction and I'm starting to trust my process a lot more.

The weird part is I still don't really trust the results.

Every green month I catch myself thinking, "what if next month is the one where it all falls apart?"

Maybe that's a good thing because it stops me getting overconfident, but it also makes it hard to feel like I'm making real progress.

Does that feeling ever go away, or do you just get better at managing it?

This is my little brother. He started a charity where college kids can donate a meal from their meal plan to those in need. Last month he got a grant to expand the program. It’s called One Meal a Week and I’m super proud of him!
